RISK

To hope is to risk pain.
To try is to risk failure.
But risk must be taken,
because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing does nothing,
has nothing, and is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
but he simply can not learn, feel,
change, grow, live, or love.

Chained by his addictions, he's a slave.
He has forfeited his greatest trait,
and that is his individual freedom.
Only the person who risks is free.
Leo Buscaglia (1924 - 1998)

There is Inside of You

  There is inside you
all of the potential to be whatever
you want to be ...
all of the energy to do whatever
you want to do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
doing what you want to do,
and each day, take one step towards
your dream.

And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
hold on to your dream.

One morning you will awake to find
that you are the person you dreamed of ...
doing what you wanted to do ...
simply because you had the courage
to believe in your potential
and to hold on to your dream.

On Risk

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

Possibilities

Life's filled with possibilities
that challenge us each day
To take a chance, try something new
see things a different way

And its thru these special moments
that we learn to change and grow
To explore the special gift
of who we are and what we know
For its not until we try
that we find out what we can do
So don't wait until Tomorrow
to discover something New

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
Keep your spirits high for through thick and thin,
You must carry on if you are to win.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
It challenges us to often give up
When we could have captured the victor's cup.

So turn your failures inside out,
Press them on past fear and doubt.
Never mind if things hold you back a bit,
You'll come out on top ~ but you mustn't quit.

The marvelous richness of human experience
would lose something of rewarding joy,
If there were no limitations to overcome.
The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful
if there were no dark valleys to traverse.
Helen Keller
